Ben Pearce took Mad Brad to the Belmont meeting on Wednesday, 18th of June in a 1000m handicap with Peter Hall aboard jumping from barrier 6 in a field of 14.
On jumping Hall had his charge in a positive position , and on settling Vital Detail was in front from Hop On Hop Off in second Bells Tower third, and Quickwittedcharlie was in fourth position, with Mad Brad one off the fence and waiting for an effort.
Coming down the straight Vital Detail and Hop On Hop Off were fighting it out with the latter gaining the upper hand, Mad Brad was closing in with every stride, but the post would loom to soon, with Hop On Hop Off the victor with an impressive 1st up run for Mad Brad in second and Bells Tower finishing up in third.
