The Ben Pearce racing team will supply three runners to the Ascot Melbourne cup day race meeting held on Tuesday November 4 with three stable runners to contest for the prize with the weather predicted to be fine the rail is out 9m racing on a good three.
The first of the stable runners will come out in race one with Bellaxena jumping from barrier eight in the field of eight over a thousand metres to be ridden by Peter Hall.
Bellaxena is a five-year-old Bay mare having raced on 22 occasions for three wins and seven placings earning prize-money in excess of $45,000 she is racing in good form with the last three efforts bringing about two wins & a second with the most recent being at Northam on October 26 when ridden by Peter Hall arrived half a length short finishing second that time out.
The second of the stable runners will be a first starter Bal Amour to be ridden by Jason Brown jumping from barrier 11 of 11 over 1200 m.
Bal Amour is prepared for this outing via two trials the first of which at Lark Hill on October 13 when ridden by Hall landing 1 1/2 lengths behind the winner of that heat and was last seen on October 24 Bunbury finishing sixth of 8, 4 lengths off the winner in a time of 59.91.
The final runner for the Yard will come out in race nine with Vampi Lass, second up from a spell over 1400 m with Peter Hall jumping from barrier one in a field of 12.
Vampi Lass is a four-year-old Brown mare having start number 18 with one win and 10 placings earning prize-money in excess of $111,000, she was most recently seen competing at Ascot on October 22 finishing fourth of 12 over 1200 m with Peter Hall aboard arriving 1.25 lengths behind the winner in a race time of 1:11.22.
Ben has adjusted the gear for this outing by adding a Tongue Tie.
