Ben Pearce also supplied a runner in race eight in a 930 m sprint with Beinn Nibheis to be ridden by Peter Hall jumping from barrier eight in a field of 10.
Beinn Nibheis was returning from a spell after trialling at Bunbury finishing first of five, before contesting in this event primed after that trial win, and in the early stages of the event was near the rear, until entering the straight, with Hall stoking up the four-year-old gelding to have him flying down the outside in response.
Drawing to the wire the judge was having a hell of a job separating the first three, eventually finding a margin in favour of Hurricane Hound with String Of Hounds in second & the late finishing Bienn Nibheis third by a whisker giving connections real hope for the rest of the preparation.
