The stable prepared Don’tgetcaught acepted to run in the ATA Stakes at listed level at Ascot in race seven on Wednesday, December 23 with Jerry Noske aboard jumping from barrier one in a field of 16, starting at 50 to 1 on the fixed price market.
After an even dispatch it was Verdello Blue in front & passing the finish line the first time around, second was Bedamijo, Steel Spur was third, Cougar Express was next with the prominently placed Rebelson with Don’tgetcaught handy in the early stages.
Running past the riverside 600m from home, Verdello Blue was being taken on in earnest by Bedamijo, Rebelson & Cougar Express were close enough if good enough with Don’tgetcaught tucked away and given a bit more rein by Jerry Noske, as the business end if the listed outing drew closer to its finale.
Into the straight Bedamijo let loose and kicked well clear, Respondent ran on well with Don’tgetcaught & Neverland running on strongly for the minors, but on landing at the judge the race was in Bedamijo’s keep, easing up on the line to score by 2.25 lengths to William Pike’s mount with Don’tgetcaught filling the third role.
