New stable addition Koranis made it two wins from as many starts for co-trainers Daniel and Ben Pearce after another strong performance at Northam on Thursday.

The Pierro four-year-old, who started the $3.70 favourite for the Reach Out Handicap (1300m), always travelled like the winner for rider Jarrad Noske after settling in the one-out and one-back position in running.

Noske peeled the gelding out three-wide approaching the home turn and nursed him to the 200m mark before asking him for a full effort over the concluding stages and he responded strongly, holding off the fast-finishing Megadon ($9.30) by a half-length.

Testa De Lago ($5.30) finished a further neck away in third place.

Koranis’ win followed a dominant maiden victory at the same track and distance a fortnight prior and he looks capable of handling a rise in grade at his next outing.

The Pearce stable will saddle-up Next Stop The Moon, Pushin’ Shapes, Mad Brad and Time To Hunt at Saturday’s Farnley Stakes meeting at Belmont.
