The Pearce Yard Saddled up a number of runners to the Bunbury race club meeting on Wednesday, January 11 with fair results spread across the card.
Lizzie finished 10th, Secret Park finished fourth, over 1200 m going down by two lengths, Buckshot Flyer, arrived in third place when ridden by Shaun O’Donnell jumping from barrier 10 over 1675m, Let’s Twist finished third in 2000m class one handicap with William Pike aboard, and Two For Twenty Two finishes down the order
But the day was highlighted by Stormy Grace’s terrific win in the TABtouch Super Pick over 1400 m of class three quality when William Pike put in a terrific ride to steer the six-year-old Bay or Brown mare to an outstanding win.
Restrained at the start by Pike, Stormy Grace looked no certainty on turning for home with the runner on the rail with nine competitors in front of her, but in a typically well-ridden race on a perfectly prepared horse, the pair came off heels on straightening borrowing through traffic to score the prize bringing up a treble for Pike to land in front of Rotana Beach, with Zedfire Express next in third.
