Stable runner Tenterden put in a solid effort in the Rentokil Initial Handicap over the thousand metre dash at Ascot with Peter Hall aboard the top weight arriving behind the well supported Snow Lord with William Pike aboard.

When leaving the barriers Tenterden, lept in a forward manner but was taken on early by Chris Parnham on Aerozine,,the fancied runner, Snow Lord settled back off the pace in fourth before the field entered the straight.

Star hoop, William Pike let the favourite go on straightening for home,  with the runner responding, before racing off to score in fine fashion in advance of the Pearce prepared Tenterden, leaving Chilly Storm in third on this occasion.

An ensuing protest was lodged by Chilly Storm against Tenterden, but was dismissed by the officials declaring weight on the numbers 4-1-6-5.
