Chiclett brought up her second win from her past three starts at Ascot on Wednesday when producing an impressive display in the TABtouch – Better Your Bet Handicap (1600m).

The Tavistock three-year-old was met with strong late betting support, backed from $3.20 to $2.70 in the closing minutes before the jump, and ran accordingly to defeat race-leader No Surrender ($6) by just over two lengths.

Ridden by Joseph Azzopardi, the progressive filly settled one-out, one-back behind short-priced favourite Outback Jack ($1.70) in running and always travelled like the winner before letting down with a sharp bust in the straight to hit the front at the 150m and pull away with conviction over the late stages.

Outback Jack finished in third place, beaten three-and-three-quarter lengths.

Chiclett has now recorded two wins and a narrow second from her six career starts and looms as a potential starter in the $200,000 Group 3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes (1600m) at Ascot on November 21.
