Written Tycoon mare Worth A Risk landed her second win in succession at Bunbury on Sunday when taking out the Amelia Park Handicap (1400m) in nice fashion.

The lightly-raced five-year-old chestnut returned to racing with a promising win at Northam on October 4 and, despite racing seven weeks between runs at her second-up assignment on Sunday, she produced another impressive performance to lead from barrier to box.

Ridden by stable jockey Joseph Azzopardi, Worth A Risk was headed by the heavily-supported The Singer Tiger ($5.50 to $2.90) turning for home but responded strongly and pulled away over the late stages to score by one-and-three quarter lengths.

Just Under ($12) finished a further three lengths away in third place.

Plagued by injury through the early stages of her career, Worth A Risk has now recorded two wins, three minor placings and seven top-five finishes from her eight race starts to date and appears capable of progressing through her classes.

Meanwhile, co-trainers Daniel and Ben Pearce will have stable stars Vital Silver and Essential Spice engaged in this Saturday’s $1 million Group 1 Crown Perth Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) at Ascot.
