Caress Your Soul was in a forward position from barrier (7), advancing nearer the rail on turning for home, as Cognac & Thirsty Work made their runs in topical order to the line.

Cognac handled by Craig Staples improved on a last start failure at Ascot, after over-racing in the middle stages to claim the prize first up from a spell, landing in advance of Thirsty Work, with Caress Your Soul, also an improver with race experience arriving in third under shooter McGruddy.
