Playing God mare brought up her second win in a line when taking out the TABtouch Have You Got The Touch Handicap (1400m) at Bunbury on Sunday.
The four-year-old broke her maiden status at Geraldton on November 26 after running minor placings at her previous four starts and displayed progressiveness when scoring again courtesy of a cool ride by in-form hoop, Austin Galati.
Starting a $3 equal-favourite, the bay was caught three-wide through the early stages of the race but Galati didn’t panic and managed to ease her back into the one-out and two-back position and pocket their main danger, Take A Leaf ($3), in the process.
God’s Grin was then peeled out into the clear approaching the turn before letting down strongly to hit the front passing the 100m mark and defeating River Angel ($7) by just over a half-length on the line.
Take A Leaf finished a further one length away in third place.
Bred and part-owned by Aaron Morton of Queenslea Park Stud, God’s Grin has now had seven career starts for two wins, four minor placings and $58,875 in total earnings.
Pearce Racing has prepared 25 winners for the 2025/26 season to date.
