Yes Yes Yes four-year-old Kidding Me opened her winning account at Geraldton on Sunday when taking out the Toyota Insurance Maiden (1200m).

Starting the $2.70 favourite off the back of a second placing first-up at the same track 12 days prior, the mare jumped from barrier two and was afforded every chance by rider Tash Faithfull when settled one-out and two-back in running.

Faithfull peeled her out approaching the home turn and was able to collar the leaders on straightening before fending off a late charge by Chinese Dentist ($7.50) to win by a head on the line.

Dixie Princess ($10) finished a further two-and-a-half lengths away in third place.

Purchased at the 2023 Karaka sale in New Zealand, the lightly-raced Kidding Me has had five career starts to date for a win and a second placing.

The Pearce stable will saddle up Let’s Galahvant in Saturday’s $1.5 million Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m) and Rock Fest in the $500,000 Group 2 WA Guineas (1600m) at Ascot on Saturday.
