Reliable Man three-year-old Eternal Romance broke her maiden status at Albany on Sunday when taking out the Albany Allsoils Landscape Supplies Maiden (1600m).

Starting the $2.50 favourite with Tash Faithfull aboard, the grey filly enjoyed a nice run midfield after jumping from barrier two before being speared off the turn by another runner and forced into making a wide run.

She had some ground to make up on straightening but knuckled down to the task strongly and reeled in her rivals to win by a head on the line.

Great Deal ($20) finished second, with The Last Galah ($21) a further three-quarter length away in third place.

Purchased by Pearce Racing from the 2023 Karaka Sale in New Zealand, Eternal Romance is an improving type who should be best suited over more ground in the future.

The Pearce stable will be represented by classy two-year-old fillies Talkanco and Perfectly Proper in Saturday’s $500,000 Group 2 Karrakatta Plate (1200m) at Ascot.
