Decoration scored second-up from a spell at Belmont on Wednesday when narrowly edging out stablemate Kiralui to take out the Lexus Of Perth Handicap (1300m).
Backed from $4.80 into $3.40 favouritism prior to the jump, the Epaulette four-year-old was sent straight to the front and led from go to whoa for jockey Chris Parnham who rode a winning treble on the day.
Kiralui ($5) travelled boldly in the one-out and one-back position before getting momentarily held up on straightening and then savaged the line over the late stages to miss by a neck, with Bonny Rock ($10) a further three-quarter length away in third place.
Decoration put the writing on the wall for his victory with a strong third placing first-up at Bunbury 13 days prior and has now had 11 career starts for two wins, five minor placings and $59,513 in total earnings.
Meanwhile, stablemate Sinful Living ($2.70) made a solid return to racing when finishing second to Cocktail Party ($7.50) in the Morley Growers Market Handicap (1000m) earlier on the program.
Pearce Racing will saddle-up Sun Kosi and Scenic Boom at Northam on Thursday before Saturday’s Belmont meeting where Blue Rocket, Under Influence and Galaxy Affair are engaged.
Acromantula will also represent the stable when lining up at Caulfield on Saturday.
