Speedy Safeguard two-year-old Sinful Living continued her brilliant progression when scoring her second win in line in Monday’s Magic Millions Plate (1100m) at Ascot.
Fresh off her first win over 1000m nine days earlier, the filly jumped a raging $1.35 favourite before jumping straight to the lead and overcoming an extra 100m and five-kilo weight turnaround to runner-up Street Band after copping heavy pressure from Overdrive ($7.50) to her outside.
She was able to shake her rivals off on straightening and responded to the vigour of visiting Sydney jockey Rachel King by lifting over the final stages to hold off Street Band by a half length.
The pair gapped the rest of the field, with Fighting Thunder ($16) a further six-and-three-quarter lengths away in third place.
Purchased for only $10,000 at the 2023 Magic Millions Perth Winter Yearling Sale, the all-ladies-owned Sinful Living has now had three career starts for two wins, a second and a lucrative $215,200 in stake earnings and Westspeed Platinum bonuses.
Meanwhile, stablemate Black Fantasy finished a gallant fifth in the $1 million TABtouch Perth Cup (2400m) a Group 2 level later in the day.
Manavendra will be the Pearce stable’s sole runner at Belmont on Wednesday.
