Daniel and Ben Pearce appear to have a strong hand at today’s York meeting with a capable team of four runners engaged.

Well-bred filly Everything’s Sweet will be looking to break her maiden status in the second event of the eight-race card, the Avon Valley Contractors Maiden (1100m).

The Not A Single Doubt three-year-old appeared slightly disappointing when one-and-a-half lengths fourth to Rockon Tommy as the $2.90 second-elect at her most recent start, however, that form has been franked with Rockon Tommy winning again at Belmont last Wednesday.

Everything’s Sweet will be ridden by Peter Hall and looks to be suited jumping from barrier two in today’s eight-horse field as well as having the addition of blinkers.

Proart four-year-old Pro Mutual looks to have found a suitable race in the Visit Northam Races On Sunday 8th October Maiden (1920m) and gets his chance to break-through for the first win of his career.

The gelding ran well at Toodyay on September 23 when racing one month between runs and having to work hard in the early stages of the race before peaking on his run over the concluding stages and finishing two-lengths fourth to Losing Ticket.

He’ll be partnered by Aaron Mitchell today and rates among the leading hopes of the race jumping from barrier three in the eight-horse field.

Honest gelding Defiancy has been knocking on the door with minor placings at his three runs for the Pearce stable and will be hoping to go one better in the TABTouch York Cup On Sunday 12th November Handicap (1920m).

The Wanted gelding finished just a long-neck second to Master Magician in the Toodyay Cup on September 23 and appears to be locked in a two-horse race with last-start winner Trap For Fool in today’s event.

Mitchell retains the mount aboard Defiancy and the pair will jump from barrier two in an eight-horse field.

Scandal Keeper four-year-old Churches was lucky not to fall when on the receiving end of interference at his last start, however, he’s capable of sharp improvement in today’s Community TAB Maiden (1300m) on the strength of his two runs prior to that. 

The gelding will be ridden by Hall for the first time in the race and rates as first-three chance from barrier four in the 12-horse field.

Three-year-old’s Racy Ava and Nobel Suspect were scratched from today’s York meeting in preference for races at Northam on Sunday.

The Pearce stable have Watto’s Fury, Pushin’ Shapes, Tenterden and A Private Party engaged at Saturday’s Belmont meeting.
